How to create your first WordPress post

1. Login to your WordPress Dashboard. Go to http://yourdomain/wp-admin

2. Scroll down to Posts

3. Click on Add New

1. This is the screen you will see after clicking on Add New.

2. Create a title rich in keywords.

3.  Some planning should be done prior to creating your first post.  Create your text using Microsoft Word.  Then copy and paste the text in the white square.

1. To add media, click Add Media.

2. It will open a new window pictured above.  You can upload a picture or use a picture from your media library.

3.  Be sure all images have alt text.  It is for people and robots that can not see the picture.

1. Once your text and pictures inserted in the post,  click Preview.

2. If you like how it looks, click Publish.

3.  Congratulations, you just created your first post.

1. Once you have published the post, it is now time to spread the word.

2. Login into LinkedIn and click on Share an update.

3.  Copy and paste the URL in the box below.  It will automatically grab pictures and text.  Then click Share.
